As cinema changes shape to become a strange hybrid of streaming and theatrical releases, films continue to carry buzz and build reputations like always, and this film is among the many examples. After weeks of hearing about Judas and the Black Messiah, we decided it was too important not to cover it, and the densely layered work of Shaka King, Daniel Kaluuya & Lakieth Stanfield offered quite a lot to discuss, especially in light of our current social tensions. We cover all the filmmaking, acting and social elements possible, and dig into the word on the street about this movie.
